The short answer
- What changed?
- Starlink's list of US legal documents shows the Referral Program Terms republished on Oct 3, 2026. Starlink doesn't publish what was edited, and we don't have a copy of the earlier version to compare, so we can't tell you what changed. We re-read the full current text and checked every rule this site relies on against it.
- When?
- Published Oct 3, 2026; re-read by us Oct 5, 2026.
- Who is affected?
- Anyone planning to order a new US Starlink through a referral link, and anyone who ordered recently and is waiting for bill 2.
- What should you do now?
- Follow the current rules below: order on starlink.com through the link, in one browser, and keep a high-speed plan through two full billing cycles.
- What stays the same?
- What the current text says: one free month on your chosen eligible plan, credited to your second monthly bill. New customers only, ordered directly on starlink.com, a service address in the same country as the referrer's, and Standby doesn't count toward the two cycles.

What we checked
We re-read the full text of the Referral Program Terms (US) dated 2026-10-03 and compared every rule this site relies on: the friend benefit, which bill gets the credit, the eligible-plan list, the new-customer rule, the starlink.com-only rule, the same-country rule and the two-billing-cycle rule. All of them match what our guides say.
The terms also say Starlink can change them, and the rewards, on 30 days' notice. That is why we date every rule on this site and re-read the terms weekly.
Where to go next
Check the rules against your situation on the eligibility page, then see when the credit lands. If you already ordered and bill two looks wrong, use the troubleshooter.
What we don’t know yet
- What was edited in the 2026-10-03 version. Starlink does not publish a change list and we do not hold the previous text.
