The short answer
- What changed?
- Starlink added a Roam 300GB plan at $80 a month, sitting between Roam 100GB and Roam Unlimited, as reported by RV Mobile Internet and Drive Tesla Canada with the May 2026 price change.
- When?
- Reported 2026-05-16. Background: more than 90 days old.
- Who is affected?
- People choosing a Roam plan: travelers, RV owners and Starlink Mini buyers.
- What should you do now?
- If you pick Roam, choose the plan at checkout through the referral link as usual. Roam 300GB is named on the eligible-plan list in the terms we read on 2026-10-05.
- What stays the same?
- Starlink's Referral Program Terms, as we read them on 2026-10-05, still give a new customer one free month on the eligible plan they pick, credited to the second monthly bill. You still pay month one, still need to order the kit and plan on starlink.com through a current customer's link, and still need two full billing cycles on a high-speed plan (Standby doesn't count).

What the new plan is
RV Mobile Internet listed Roam 300GB at $80 a month, the one consumer plan that did not get a price rise in May 2026 because it was new. Roam 100GB moved to $55 and Roam Unlimited to $175 at the same time. Since July 2026, only Roam Unlimited works outside your home country or region (see our post on Roam travel rules).
Free-month eligibility
The Referral Program Terms we read on 2026-10-05 list eight eligible plans: Residential Lite, Residential, Residential 100 Mbps, Residential 200 Mbps, Residential Max, Roam 100GB, Roam 300GB and Roam Unlimited. So Roam 300GB qualifies, under the same rules as the others.
The usual conditions still apply: order the kit and plan on starlink.com through the link, never have been a Starlink subscriber, and keep a high-speed plan through two full billing cycles. The eligibility page has the full list, and Which plans get the free month shows what one month of each plan is worth.
Picking between the three is mostly about data and travel. Since January 2026, Roam plans no longer sell extra data; speeds slow once the allowance is used, per SatelliteInternet.com. So if you expect to go past 100GB in a month, Roam 300GB avoids the slowdown without the cost of Unlimited. Because the free month is one month of the plan you pick, a Roam 300GB order means the credit is worth one month of Roam 300GB.
The Mini runs on Roam plans, so Mini buyers ordering on starlink.com can pick Roam 300GB too. Our step-by-step guide covers the order flow.
What we don’t know yet
- When exactly Roam 300GB was added to the referral terms. We only have the current version (republished 2026-10-03) to compare against.
