Had Starlink before? Here’s why there’s no free month

Moving house, starting over at a second home or coming back after a break doesn’t reset this rule.

Rules checked Against Starlink’s own help pages and terms. How we check

Short answer

The free month is only for people who have never been a Starlink subscriber. If you’ve had a subscription before, at any address and for any length of time, you don’t qualify.

“The Referred Subscriber is not, and has never been, a Starlink subscriber.”
From Referral Program Terms, US (starlink.com legal document DOC-1882-84808-83). Read .
“You must be a new Starlink customer. Existing or returning customers are not eligible.”

What you can still do

Order Starlink if it’s right for you. Just budget for month two at full price. starlink.com shows the price for your address at checkout.

What won’t work

A new email address, a different name on the account or someone else’s details. Starlink’s terms forbid getting around the eligibility rules.

Questions people ask

I had Starlink years ago. Does that still count?
Yes. The rule is that you are not, and have never been, a Starlink subscriber. There’s no time limit in the terms.
My spouse had Starlink, not me. Can I get the free month?
The terms talk about the subscriber: you, as the person ordering. If you’ve never had your own subscription, the rule about past subscribers doesn’t rule you out. Order on your own account, with honest details. Never borrow someone else’s.
Can I open a new account with a different email to get it?
No. That would be trying to get around the eligibility rules, which Starlink’s terms forbid. It can also cost the person who shared the link their reward.
