Troubleshooting
Service address outside the US?
This guide, and any US referral link, works only for US service addresses.
Short answer
Your service address has to be in the same country as the person who shared the link. A US link only works for a US address. Outside the US, you’d need a link from a customer in your own country, if Starlink runs the program there.
“The Referred Subscriber activates a Starlink subscription with a service address in the same country as the Referrer's service address.”
What you can do
- Ask someone with Starlink in your own country for their link. Check Starlink’s own pages for how the program works where you live. This guide only covers the US.
- Never enter a US address you don’t use as your service address to fit the rule. That breaks Starlink’s terms, and the service address affects how your Starlink works.
Questions people ask
I’m a US citizen living abroad. Can I use a US link?
What matters is the service address, not citizenship. A service address outside the US doesn’t match a US referrer’s country.
Does Roam travel abroad affect the free month?
The rule is about the service address on your order. Travelling with Roam Unlimited from a US home base doesn’t change your service address. Using a foreign address as your service address would.
What about Puerto Rico and other US territories?
Starlink’s terms say “same country” and don’t list territories. We haven’t found a Starlink page that answers this, so ask Starlink support before you order.
